• Collaborate with Dalriada’s expert interdisciplinary drug discovery scientists in medicinal & computational chemistry, cell & molecular biology, biophysics & biochemistry, ADME and proteomics (>70% PhD).
• Work closely with Dalriada senior leadership and executive team of expert drug discovery scientists, innovators, global pharmaceutical industry executives and entrepreneurs, who collectively have > 145 patents, pharma transactions >
$2B, 6 companies founded, >215 years of drug discovery experience, led > 100 drug discovery programs and brought drugs to the clinic and market.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Facilities & Equipment Maintenance:

• Responsible for the maintenance of buildings in the GTA locations
• Investigates general facilities inquiries including: HVAC, mechanical, equipment, janitorial and forwards to appropriate staff or third-party vendor
• Assists in facilities changes i.e., construction, minor and major renovation projects
• Coordinates office reconfigurations and office moves
• Researches products and services for the facility and monitors results
• Maintains preventative maintenance and repair logs on equipment
• Monitors outside vendors to assure work is performed as specified
• Oversees proper operation of all laboratory equipment
• Communicates and collaborates with vendors to troubleshoot and repair instruments/equipment
• Prepares/assists with the annual budget regarding building expenditures and repairs

Security:
• Monitors facilities to ensure safety and controlled access and report as needed
• Responds to all after-hours access requests
• Occasionally may be required to come to site on weekends and in the case of emergencies
• Maintains building security and card key access system

EH&S:
• Monitors and inspects buildings for fire, security, and safety issues
• Ensures that fire extinguishers, personal protective equipment, and all safety related equipment are in proper working condition
• Ensures that all required permits and inspections follow all provincial and federal regulations
• Develops, implements, and administers health and safety programs to meet Canadian legislative requirements
• Chairs the Joint Health & Safety Committee and conducts monthly H&S office audits and report to management
• Develops and delivers employee health and safety training required by legislation or fire emergency procedures
• Implements First Aid training and emergency procedures
• Conducts accident investigation and reports to WSIB


Knowledge, Experience & Technical Skills

• Four+ years of professional experience in property control, procurement, building management
• Comprehensive knowledge of building management methods including thorough knowledge of building safety codes
• Basic skills of construction, maintenance, and operation of HVAC
• Possesses advanced knowledge of facility maintenance, vendor contracts, building security, OSHA, housekeeping and purchasing
• Solid working knowledge/understanding of Canadian occupational health and safety legislation (including employer and employee obligations)
• Knowledge of MS Word, and Excel is required; and basic / working knowledge of MS PowerPoint an asset

• Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team environment
• Must be willing and able to respond to facility-related emergency calls 24x7x365
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, meticulous, efficient and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive project timelines
