• Work closely with Dalriada senior leadership and executive team of expert drug discovery scientists, innovators, global pharmaceutical industry executives and entrepreneurs, who collectively have > 145 patents, pharma transactions >$2B, 6 companies founded, >215 years of drug discovery experience, led > 100 drug discovery programs and brought drugs to the clinic and market.

Job Summary

As a Project Manager, you will maneuver the precarious path of maintaining the pace and progress of small molecule Medicinal Chemistry research projects, while keeping a project team engaged and enthusiastic. The Project managers are the glue that helps keep projects and people together. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed effectively on time and on budget. The successful candidate will join a fast paced and multi-disciplinary drug discovery team comprised of talented research individuals spanning a variety of disciplines.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for managing multiple integrated drug discovery projects within the approved budgets and timelines
• Work in close collaboration with team leaders, functional managers, and executive leadership to develop, implement and monitor multidisciplinary project plans that allow for data driven decision making
• Create and maintain Gantt Charts, project priorities trackers and milestones to review timelines and deliverables
• Drive the progress of projects and activities to ensure timely delivery of data, project updates, reports, project milestones and screening cascade
• Establish budget baseline, monitor the project budget for all milestones for invoicing and revenue recognition
• Leverage resources, expertise, and knowledge across multiple projects to ensure attainment of project deliverables
• Function as the key client contact on assigned projects and develop successful working relationships with client
• Provide consistent, effective, and timely communication to clients and across all departments
• Coordinate, organise and document project team meeting minutes and maintain actions and decisions registry
• Manage client project meetings and communication throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare communication plan and contact matrix for the project and share with clients and internal teams
• Proactively recognize any change in scope and communicate with clients, Business Development and internal functional teams
• Identify risks and develop risk mitigation plans, in discussion with SMEs and/or senior leadership
• Offer a high-quality customer service by using approved processes and templates
• Liaison to resolve inter-departmental challenges, for prioritizing tasks and scheduling appropriate resources
• Demonstrate flexibility to adjust to a rapidly changing workload to provide support to colleagues
• Establish direct connections and communication channels with CROs and academic collaborators, provide project management support, ensure timely study execution and effective reciprocal communication between parties
• Boost team’s morale by acknowledging their contributions and share tools and processes for efficiency improvement
• Lead and/or contribute to initiatives or responsibilities as assigned by R&D Director

Education & Certifications

• Degree/certification in project management
• Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines
• At least 1-2 years prior project management experience in biotech, pharma or CRO organization essential
• Knowledge of the drug discovery/development process
